‘Making Smiles Better’

At Clínica Dental el Puerto our main objective is ‘making smiles better’, by encouraging and helping you to maintain a healthy mouth & smile for life.

At your initial check-up, we will thoroughly examine your teeth, gums & soft tissues of your mouth to fully assess your dental health. We will also take into account any previous or current health problems to enable us to offer you the best advice possible.

We will carefully listen to any concerns or requirements you may have and explain treatment recommendations & options accordingly, providing you with a fully-detailed estimate for your consideration.

We can show you problems inside your mouth with our intra-oral cameras and explain treatment techiques with computerised visual aids, to ensure that you fully understand all of the treatment options which are available before you make a decision. You can then listen to relaxing music or watch a movie while having your treatment.

And finally, we can help you achieve the healthy smile you have always wanted.

What is an implant?

An implant is a small titanium post &; is used as an artificial replacement for missing teeth. The implant is placed in either the upper or lower jaw & once integrated in to the bone can be utilised to support crowns, bridges or even dentures.

Why would I need an implant?

An implant is an alternative to a bridge or a denture when you have missing or broken-down teeth. It essentially provides support for a new tooth or teeth & provides an excellent way of providing good aesthetics & phonetics. With a success rate of 98% it is a predictable & reliable way of restoring excellent function & aesthetics.

Implants at Clinica Dental el Puerto

Dr Solis, our Maxillo-Facial Surgeon, places up to 2000 implants per year, so is very experienced in their placement. The implants are placed under local anaesthetic & where possible a healing cap is placed, allowing rapid restoration of the implant once sufficient bone support is achieved. After a period to allow the implants to integrate in to the bone, typically three months, they are then restored by our Restorative team. Our Restorative Clinicians will check the integration of the implant prior to restoration. We use state of the art techniques & the highest quality implants & laboratories to restore natural function & aesthetics to your mouth. Should you wish to discuss the possibility of having implants then please contact us on 966 46 1143 & our clinicians will be happy to discuss all the treatment options available to you.

What is Orthodontics?

Orthodontics is dental speciality that treats misaligned teeth in order to restore aesthetics & function. This can be done with just extractions or by liberating space with in the mouth by other means. Orthodontics may also require the provision of a brace which can be removable or fixed via brackets. Additionally, with the advent of clear braces & lingual braces (braces which face inwards) we can now provide treatment which is barely visible thus giving you the smile you want without the signs of undergoing treatment. Treatment times vary but can take from as little as six months up to 18 months or two years depending on the type of treatment you need.

Dr Sonia Cordoba has been treating adults & children for many years & as such has extensive experience of providing high quality Orthodontics. She also works extensively with other specialists to correct growth related issues affecting children & their consequent appearance in the mouth.

Smile with confidence!

Just because you have lost some or all of your teeth doesn’t mean you have to have an artificial-looking smile.

At our clinic, we will carefully choose the colour, size & shape of the teeth for your new dentures to help you achieve a completely natural-looking smile.

If you haven’t lost all of your teeth, you may even be suitable for bridgework or implants which could remove the need for dentures all together. Even if this is not an option, you could be suitable for precision-retained dentures which give better retention & can remove the need for unsightly denture clasps, or implant-retained alternatives. Or why not call our reception staff to arrange your appointment to discuss which options could be suitable for you, and smile with confidence!

Healthy Teeth, Happy Kids, Confident Patients!

At our clinic we endeavour to make our younger patients' visits as enjoyable as possible. Our main aim is not only to provide the dental treatment which is necessary, but to make your child’s dental experiences relaxed & positive, “happy little patients grow into confident adult patients”.

Treatment is always carried out gently with complimentary movies during treatment & incentive gifts for good behaviour, however, prevention is always better than cure.

We always recommend that you start bringing your children to visit us as soon as possible.  Visiting the clinic regularly from an early age allows them to get use to the surroundings and allows us to develope a realtionship with your child as well as detect at an early stage any developing dental problems.

When you need something special

At our clinic we believe that certain aspects of dental care should be provided by Specialists who have dedicated their professional career to their particular field of Dentistry. To provide our patients with the highest level of treatment possible, we work in close conjunction with renowned specialists in the following fields of dentistry:

Implantology

A dental implant is an artificial tooth root replacement and is used in prosthetic dentistry to support restorations that resemble a tooth or group of teeth, such as crowns, bridges or dentures. We work in close collaboration with an emminent implantologist who will assess suitability & surgically place the implant(s) at the practice. These are then allowed to integrate with the bone & are restored by our clinicians approximately three months after placement.

Oral Surgery

We have an in-house Consultant Maxillo-Facial Surgeon who can perform complex surgical extractions, apicectomies & biopsies, if required.

Oral Medicine

Dr Solis, our Oral Surgeon, can diagnose, biopsy & treat a multitude of oral diseases & conditions. We can arrange for laboratory analysis of any samples leading to rapid diagnosis & treatment. This sort of service is one that you would normally associate with a hospital environment. We provide this premier service in order to fast track treatment & diagnosis for all our patients.

Orthodontics

Orthodontics is a specialty of dentistry that is concerned with the treatment of malocclusions (improper bites), which may be a result of tooth irregularity, disproportionate jaw relationships, or both.

Neural Occlusal Therapies

Neural therapy is a holistic therapy of the autonomic nervous system whose final outcome is to encourage the mechanisms of self-healing within the body to allow it to re-organise and auto-regulate itself.

Neurofocal dentistry takes into account the relation of the teeth with the nervous system and the other organs of the body.

The body can become ill due to processes which occur in the mouth and by the same means many illnesses can be cured or prevented from the mouth.

Scars, un-erupted teeth, diseases of the gums and supporting tissues, trauma and cysts etc. can cause disorders in the body.

If you are interested in finding out more about Neural therapy and how it could help you, why not arrange a consultation appointment with Dr. Sonia Cordoba, or call into the clinic to pick up an informative leaflet.
